Henry K. Ng & Associates Consulting Engineers, Inc. (HKN) was founded in February 1987 as a locally owned structural engineering firm to provide consulting and design services to the local architectural community serving the El Paso/Juarez/Las Cruces area. Since its inception, HKN has grown into an engineering firm with unequal reputation and has been awarded some of the most notable projects in the region.
In addition to having designed many projects with the City and County of El Paso, and school districts in El Paso and New Mexico, HKN has also completed projects in Mexico in over twenty cities, designing industrial parks and manufacturing facilities for U. S. developers.
With four structural engineers registered in seven states, HKN has completed over 150 design projects for school districts in El Paso County and New Mexico, over fifty million square feet of industrial and manufacturing facilities, more than six million square feet of commercial and retail space, and projects for the University of Texas at El Paso and New Mexico State University. Some of the notable projects designed by the engineering staff of HKN include the new 10-story tower of the University Medical Center and Children’s Hospital, the School of Nursing as well as the Computer Science and Chemistry Building at the University of Texas at El Paso, the 800,000 sf Wistron manufacturing facility in Juarez, Mexico, and over 1,500 housing units at Ft. Bliss, Texas. In recent years, HKN has been entrusted with the design of building projects with construction costs exceeding $ 300 million annually.
In addition to the firm’s successful evolution in the structural engineering field, HKN is also involved in many community projects donating its services to many projects for non-profit organizations regularly.
HKN is a small, minority-owned firm, registered with the General Services Commission of the State of Texas as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB).
